Meet Olivia, the newest addition to our family!
One woman's journey into life as a we... and all that comes with it.
HELLO!
We are Alicia and Frank. In April, 2009 we welcomed our first baby into the world. Olivia came 1 week and 1 day late -- like her mom, always "fashionably late." The very next day a doctor felt and heard clicks when moving her legs. She was officially diagnosed with developmental dysplasia of the hip at 5 days old. Through several procedures, her hips have developed beautifully! This page is meant to keep family and friends updated on her progress and our lives. Enjoy!

My baby was born on April 9, 2010, we have been battling with harness, casts, and a surgrey ever since. Also from Philadelhia, do you have any tips? She is in a Spica now, for 6 weeks, then in another for 6 more weeks. Then who knows.
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki9238! I apologize for not being able to respond sooner. I hope that by now your daughter is healthy and cast-free. If not, click on the spica cast link on the left side of the blog (scroll down a little). That will bring up all the spica cast posts; you can also click on the hip dysplasia link for other, general information.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Remember, your child will never remember this time. And I pray that her recovery and future is similar to our daughter's who continues to grow and develop as she should.
